SELVÁGE Journal ···

Where It Began: The Boutique

In 2019, I opened Selváge.

It began as a destination boutique, a place for personal styling, clothing, and accessories, all under one roof. I wanted it to feel different from the moment someone walked through the door. Not like a traditional store, but like a place where you could linger, discover something unexpected, talk about style, and most importantly, feel seen.

Where It Began: The Boutique

I live to spoil you.

It wasn’t a slogan. It was the entire business plan.

And looking back at these photographs, I think you can see what I hoped Selváge would become.

The clothes were always part of the story, but they were never the whole story.

Where It Began: The Boutique

The real magic happened around them, in the conversations, the fittings, the laughter, the styling sessions, the celebrations, and the friendships that grew inside those walls.

Clients trying something new, women sharing a little time together, and the people who helped make Selváge what it became.

Some came looking for an outfit.

Some came because they needed help finding their style again.

Some became regulars.

And some became friends.

That has always been one of my favorite things about fashion: the way a piece of clothing can open a conversation, change how someone carries herself, or remind her of a version of herself she had forgotten.

Selváge also became a meeting place for creativity.

Working with other designers and creative people brought another layer to the boutique. I loved discovering pieces with a story behind them, meeting the people who made them, and bringing different points of view together in one space.

The boutique was never meant to feel overly polished or untouchable. I wanted it to have personality. Texture. Energy.

Where It Began: The Boutique

A little unexpected.

A place where linen could sit beside jewelry, where an accessory could completely change an outfit, and where a woman could walk in unsure of what she was looking for and leave feeling like herself, only more so.

That philosophy is still at the heart of Selváge today.

One of the most meaningful parts of my journey has been the women I’ve met along the way.

In the Selváge collection, every piece is named after a woman who has shaped my journey, someone who inspired me, challenged me, supported me, or walked alongside me for part of the road.

Where It Began: The Boutique

For me, clothing has always been connected to people.

A dress isn’t just a dress. It becomes part of a wedding, a celebration, a new chapter, a night out, a first impression, or simply an ordinary Tuesday when you decide you want to feel good.

Selváge was never really about selling clothes.

It was about helping women discover what already belonged to them.

Their style.

Their confidence.

Their energy.

Their essence.

That is what I was trying to create back then.

And it is still what I believe today.
